By the end of 2011, NCPE has completed the design of power generation projects with the installed capacity of 80788MW, accounting for one tenth of the total thermal power installed capacity in China.
It is the first large thermal power plant in the world integrating power generation-seawater desalination- salt producing from condensed seawater-land saving - arranging-waste recycling and is one of the first cyclic economy demonstration projects with planned installed capacity of 4×1000MW in China. The plant is the first 1000MW ultra-supercritical unit power plant commissioned to the north of the Yellow River in China after commissioned in 2009. It has won the prize of China Electric Power Quality Engineering Award.
The project is located in the load center of Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Grid with two units commissioned in 2001 and 2002 respectively. It covers advanced land allocation with obvious water-saving effect and carries out the design idea of demonstration power plant in 2000 with lots of design optimization and quota design. It has won Gold Medal of National XI Excellent Engineering Design Award.
Inner Mongolia Datang International Tuoketuo Power Plant (8×600MW)
It is the key construction project during the "Tenth Five-year Plan" period and the landmark project in the passage of "Power Transmission from West to East" in China. After 8 units were commissioned in 2006, the total installed capacity was up to 8×600MW, making the plant the largest thermal power plant in China, compared with those power plants constructed during the same period. This plant won the prize of Power Industry Excellent Engineering Design Award with its reasonable overall planning, compact layout, advanced land allocation, novel construction design, coordinative style, and obvious comprehensive water-saving effect of the plant area.
Beijing Taiyanggong 2×350MW Gas-fired CCHP Plant
As supporting of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Venues, the plant supplies heat load and power load to the surrounding areas for heating in winter and refrigerating in summer. It is the only gas-steam combined cycle unit with two-on-one split configuration in China at present and the first power plant whose noise-controlling from all directions meet the standard in Class I Region and the first de-NOx project in China. It won the prize of China Electric Power Quality Engineering Award and National Construction Engineering Luban Prize.
GD Power Datong No.2 Power Plant Phase II Extension (2×600MW)
It is a 600MW air-cooled unit demonstration project in water saving and environment protection. The plant is designed by using three leading technologies in China: the first 600MW directly air-cooled unit that has been put into operation, the first plant using the urban "reclaimed water" for industrial water (including boiler make-up water) and the first 600 MW unit achieving synchronous FGD. The project has won the silver medal for its superior design.
Shanxi Yangcheng Power Plant Phase II 2×600MW Project
The #7、#8 units of the operating Shanxi Yangcheng Power Plant Phase II are the first indirect air-cooled units with the first ultra large indirect air-cooling tower in China that employs SCAL indirect air-cooling system, a patented technology invented by NCPE. It is also the first 600MW indirect air-cooled units project in China.
Hebei Guohua Huanghua Power Plant 2×600MW Project
The #1、#2 units of the operating Hebei Guohua Huanghua Power Plant are the first power plant design project with the capacity of seawater desalination equipment up to 10 thousand tons per day. It realizes the "fresh water zero mining" in large thermal power plant construction in China to create several No.1 in seawater desalination technology, such as the scale, the technology and power and distilled water co-generation, and becomes the sole large thermal power plant in China without other fresh water supply This project has opened a new way for large thermal power plant construction in coastal area short of fresh water in China.
This project has won the first prize of The Chinese Electric Power Industry Excellent Engineering Design Award and the second prize of National Superior Engineering Consulting Award.
