--1000MW Generation Unit 1 of Tianjin Beijiang Power Station,   Designed by NCPE, Succeeded in 168-hour Trail Run

At 15:48 September 24th, 2009, The Generation Unit 1 of Tianjin Beijiang Power Station Succeeded in 168-hour commission in full load. All the parameters and index have satisfied the design specifications.

Tianjin Beijiang Power Station Unit 1 is one of the first batches of cycle-economic pilot projects in China, which is owned, developed and operated by State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC).

The Generation Unit 1 is the first ultra-supercritical 1000MW generation unit in northern part to the Yellow River and is also the first unit in operation designed by NCPE. Its successful operation indicates that China has enjoyed the great progress of the Cycle-economic Strategy by State Investment and Energy Saving & Emission Reducing Strategy. Meanwhile it shows that NCPE has stepped into a new stage in terms of Engineering Design ability.

The Beijiang Power Station, one of the Pilot Cycle-economic Projects, is planed to construct 4×1000MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power station and 400-thousand-ton-per-day sea water desalination Equipment. The Project Phase 1 is planed to construct 2×1000MW Units and 200-thousand-ton-per-day sea water desalination Equipment, which is developed and operated by Tianjin SDIC Jinneng Electric Power Co., Ltd.  The total investment of the Project Phase 1 accounts for 12.3 billion RMB.

This project adopted the Cycle-Economic Pattern, namely Generation, Sea water Desalination, Condensed Sea water Salting, Optimal Land Utilization and Waste Re-utilization. And this project consists of 5 items, which are Generation Project, Sea Water Desalination, and Condensed Sea Water Salting, Optimal Land Utilization as well as Comprehensive Utilization of Waste.

The advanced technologies in the world are adopted to this project and some of them made a domestic technological breakthrough. For instance, Generatioon Project adopted the most advanced 1000MW ultra-supercritical generation unit with the characteristics of high parameter, high capacity, high efficiency and low emission. More specifically, the coal consumption is designed to 290g per kV/h, which has been reduced by 55g per kV/h, compared to the Average Consumption Level of China in 2008.What’s more, thanks to 200-thousand-ton-per-day-seawater-desalination project and condensed seawater salting project, 22km² saline lands has been saved. At the same time, the highest-level ash handling and desulphurizing equipment have been deployed and the environmental protection index is higher than National Standard. In this way, Zero Emission and Re-utilization of the waste have been realized. All in all, this project will be reflect optimal utilization of the resources, Minimum emission and economical optimization, which are in conformity to Scientific Outlook on Development and the Requirement of Energy Saving & Emission Reducing.
